A year of hearing by Briona Hendren

This repetitive project serves as a diary that tells a story of a feeling each day. Due to the nature of mono-printing, these impressions - although monochrome black - are all individual and unique in nature. This idea of creating a daily diary of prints is enticing to me but I wouldn't be sure what I would choose as my object of interest. The large size and impact of these small prints when they are all brought together is very moving to me as I can connect with the hearing issues. These prints displayed in the somewhat uniform grid create a calendar effect that you can go through day by day.

I really like the concept of repetition but feel I need to really connect with the motif to be able to produce that amount of work and I haven't connected with anything of the sort yet. Hopefully with time I will produce something like this.

“Every day is different. Some days I feel like I can hear perfectly. Other days it’s as if someone turned the volume all the way down…” -Briona Hendren
