This was a day of experimentation and learning because I had never attempted paint pouring like this before. I went into it hastily because of the scheduled access to the studios requiring me to be in only on certain days so I definitely could have been more prepared but it was a good experience none the less.
I struggled to know what to put the paint in to pour it and ended up melting holes in the bottom of plastic cups which I would not recommend. Even though I achieved a dotted line effect which in a way did map out the journey of the dance in a new way I didn't feel the energy translating through them back out towards me. After discussing this with Barry we came up with an idea to use siracha shaped bottles with silicone tubes attached to the nozzles that we would attach to my feet and pour paint through to make marks that way. I bought the silicone tubes and this idea does seem like it could work but I am hoping that next year we will have more access to the studios again so that I can properly experiment with these messier project ideas that I am having!
I do enjoy watching the line dances get created however so will pursue the venture of filming the process to create more video performances of the drawings.
